Events at Churchill’s

At Churchill’s Garden Center, we host a variety of engaging events designed for garden lovers of all ages. From informative talks and creative workshops to hands-on experiences like DIY container gardens, terrariums, and seasonal centerpieces, our skilled designers guide you step-by-step as you craft your own one-of-a-kind creations and share expert care tips to help them thrive at home.

For our younger gardeners, we offer fun, kid-friendly events such as terrarium making and gingerbread cookie decorating. These activities aren’t just entertaining; they nurture curiosity, teach the basics of plant care, and inspire a lifelong love of nature.

We also offer private classes for groups of 6–12 participants, perfect for team outings, friend get-togethers, birthday celebrations, family activities, clubs and community groups, and anyone looking for a personalized, hands-on creative experience.

Private classes can be scheduled on weekdays, weekends, or even after hours, whatever works best for your group. Simply reach out and we’ll help you plan the perfect creative gathering!

Join us for an upcoming event and discover the joy of gardening, creating, and connecting at Churchill’s.

Understanding Plant Stress & Weather Damage

You Asked, We’ve Listened – Plant Problems Explained This season has brought an abundance of customer questions, and you’re not alone in wondering what’s happening to your landscape. From browning evergreens and scorched leaves to struggling shrubs and an increase in fungal diseases, gardeners everywhere are seeing the effects of an unusual year.

Join us and a Certified Arborist from Port City Tree Care as we tackle the questions we’ve been hearing most often at the garden center. We’ll discuss how the long, windy winter, drought conditions, and early high heat have impacted trees, shrubs, and other landscape plants, along with the rise in fungal diseases and other stress-related issues.

Together we’ll cover:

  • Why plants are showing signs of stress and damage
  • How to tell the difference between environmental stress and disease
  • Common fungal issues and what to watch for
  • Prevention and treatment options
  • What can be saved, what needs time, and when it’s best to intervene

After the discussion, we’ll take a walk through the garden center to look at real examples, identify symptoms, and answer your questions in a hands-on setting.

If you’ve been asking, “What’s wrong with my plant?” this class is for you. Come learn what we’re seeing, what it means, and what you can do to help your landscape recover.
